I've just ordered one of these lights for a 93 rimless cube (30x30x24)... This tank will be SPS heavy, would I be okay with a single unit, or should I have two units?

I think you'd do better with two. You'll get more coverage and less shadowing.

Asking and buying in the wrong order!!! ;)

I'd have suggested three or four of their smaller units, but it depends on your tastes whether that's "best".

Lots of folks do seem to be sensitive to the amount and starkness of shadows created from a single-light solution tho.

IMO 2 fixtures would have been better with SPS heavy.
There has been alot of threads discussing light shadowing from a single fixture, especially when pushing the limits of manufactures recommendations of their products.

I suppose that depends on if you ordered the XR15 or the XR30. 1 XR15 will cover 24"x 24" very well and the XR30 will cover 30" x 30". I personally have 2 XR15w Pro's for my 65 gallon 48" long tank.

If you're not happy with just the one get a second. It's how I did it. Post pics when all set up!

Op is going sps heavy so a single xr30 let alone an xr15 is not going to happen. An xr15 covers 24x24 no problem if you are doing fish only.
