hi guys i have a reef 120x55x55 (cm) full sps and some lps on the bottom. how many radion g5 do you recommend for excellent growth and excellent colors? is it better to use the xr15 or xr30? this is a photo of my reef.

BRS has a really helpful video on the new lights. They cover the PAR, spacing, and how many you may need. It definitely helped me decide on which light was right for my tank. Check it out and good luck!

I have seen these videos but they have not been able to clarify my doubts ... they have not made a video with xr15 but only with xr 30 and they indicate that you need 3xr 30 for a full sps of that size but I think it is really excessive ..

Supposedly, mobius allows for dynamic control of the fans in the XR30 Gen5 models. This resolves one of my major gripes with the Gen4 XR30. I had previously preferred XR15s, but if this fan control is correct, I probably go back to preferring the XR30 (half as many cords, power bricks and hanging kits). I have been told this fan control will also extend to the Gen4 once they become compatible with mobius. Unfortunately all of mine will require card replacement, so I'll have to figure out how much I'm willing to pay for a quieter tank LOL.

I'm not a fan of the Mobius App yet. I liked the ReefLink better. Hopefully they come out with a PC version. With the Bluetooth mobile App I'm assuming you have to be in range to make any changes.

No kidding, this app so far has been garbage for me at least.

but for example between the use of 2 xr30 and 4 xr15, with the 4 xr15 I have no greater light distribution than the xr30?

Well of course not - XR15 is half of the XR30. What you DO get is the ability to align/position each puck independently. May not be a big deal for most, but with a mature tank where shading becomes a problem, that can be quite useful. That the fan runs as needed in the 15 versus 24/7 in the 30 was an advantage also. If mobius removes that advantage, then the comparison changes for me (as I already noted).

Yes that is the point of using more small lights....you get to choose where you distribute the light/lights.

You wont get the same power but you can choose where your light is distributed better.

guys do you think it is appropriate to combine the radion g5 with the t5 tubes or use them individually? obviously for having exceptional hits on the acropores

I did replace two Gen 2 nonpro version with two Gen 5 blue yesterday - with the old aquatic hybrid with 4 T5s - will have to wait and see how it does. The GEn 5 blue is not so blue as it is shown in the pictures but of course it is adjustable.
