Do you or any one you know have this set up?
Is it working do you find this coral to grow under this light?

Just installed 3 - Gen 4 XR30s. My LFS had a beautiful setup with nice grow out but they haven't been out long enough and running on the tank for any conclusions yet.

How long have you had them for I tried and they lasted a few months

I have had this tank up with radions since I started it about a year and a half ago. Switched to Gen 4 when they came out. Started with frags of millies about 3 months in. They may not have explosive growth that you would get with radiums but I love the color and control. I recently got the apex par kit and realized how conservative I was with power and currently ramping up to 75% to achieve around 700 par at surface of tank.

I have millies in my tank but they have not grown in three years three months is too short to know anything unless they took off with growth which you said they havent

Do you test your parameters? If you want growth, higher alkalinity but could cause burnt tips. Lower alkalinity to push colors out.

My cheap chinese black boxes grow Acros just fine. Though I don't have any milles yet. But aren't acros suppose to be more difficult than milles? I would say light intensity isn't right or parameters are off.

Correction: I guess millepora is an acro... lol I hope you know what I mean, though?

Different acroporas require slightly different needs(I.e. light and flow). Growing sps is easier than trying to get color out of them, in my opinion. If they aren't growing, I would usually point to something being off in alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium since calcification is not occurring. Are your sps brown and I uncolored?
