Hey guys! My name is Dee, I just got a 40 breeder from the petco sale and purchased a radion gen2 from a seller on this site. I wanted to know if I needed to get anything ready and set up for the lights? Will I be able to run them wirelessly or do I need a laptop hooked up to it 24/7?

Also, most of my corals I will be getting from a LFS with already high-end lighting on their tanks, should I acclimate the lights low like 30% for them? or should I just leave it at whatever the store has? I just finished setting up the powerheads, sump, skimmer, rocks, and sand and the cycling has began for the past 3 days so I know the algae bloom will come soon and I will test the tank out with a fish.

I have all of the other knickknacks down thanks to city pets! WOO WOO! But the lighting is my only question, is it idiot proof or am I making it harder then it should be.

In order to have full control of your Radion you will need to connect it to a computer its not wireless. The only wireless communication is to additional lights or pumps. My tank is not close to a computer and i don't want to have to hook up a laptop every time i want to change something so i got a wireless usb hub to connect it to. Then I just use pocket cloud on my ipad so I can connect to it through the PC and wireless hub remotely. I used the wireless USB hub made by iogear. Works great!

You only need to hook it up when you want to change the schedule. Ecotech is coming out with a wireless module sometime this year. I love my Radion Pro, but I have to sell it to afford the move up to a 4ft tank.
