Radion gen3 and radion gen1

I have a radion gen3 righte now. And im upgrading my tank. I can get a radion gen1 with tir lenses from a local guy for a great deal. Anyone know if they will look different and if i can hook up the gen1 to my reef link? Thanks

You can upgrade the pucks to gen 3 I believe

If it's a good deal, grab it. As one of the other post states, you can upgrade the pucks to g3. The only issue is for G1 lights, you have to send them back to Eco Tech for the upgrade. The G2 can be upgraded to G3 or G3 pro by the owner. Hey Mannyhernz, what are the pucks and how much are you asking? I have a G2 looking for G3 Pro pucks. You can PM me if you like.

I have 4 upgraded gen 3's on my tank right now. For a little while only 3 were upgraded and 1 was a gen 1. You could see a difference in the color when they were side by side.
The gen 3 upgrades had a much nicer crisp blue.
If I were you, I would get the gen 1 if it is a good deal and when funds are available send it in for the gen 3 upgrade.
IMO very worth it.

Thanks. I got it for 200$ i can tell the difference in color and they arent even side by side yet. I will save for you upgrade. Its not clear on the website. But can you uorgrade to the gen3 without going pro? I dont want the pro because then ill have to uprgade my gen3 lol

Yes, you can do the upgrade to gen 3 without going to pro.
You will have to send it in to them and have them do it. Then they mail it back to you.
I do like the color of the gen 3.
