radion hanging kit warning

when using echo techs rms hanging kit befor install make sure you tighten the leveling screw. put one up this weekend and the screw was about half thread on went to level the lights touched the screw and dropped a radion into the tank. not a happy camper. 650 out the window
 
I have heard similar things happen to other folks, did you try placing it in a bag with rice?
 
Just to provide preventative measures for anyone else following this thread. If you work on lighting over your tank place a piece of plywood or something over your tank to prevent the same mistake. Not bashing the OP but just trying to help anyone that needs a reminder to be careful.

That's what I do
 
I had read years ago in reference to marine electronics (radios, depth sounders, etc.) that got dipped in salt water; rinse well with fresh water (we'd use RO/DI) to remove the salt water, then rinse in rubbing alcohol. The alcohol will flush away the water and then evaporate. Might also me good to use rice afterwards.
