Is there a way other than hanging from ceiling to hang these things. Heard a company called modular led made brackets but can't find them on there web site. Thanks Joe.

Yea I think they make a deal that attaches to the tank made by Ecotech I think. Holds in to the side and comes up and over that you attach the lights to.

There is a thread on Reef Central in the EcoTech forum that shows a bunch of different ways to hang Radions.
One very popular way is to use a wall mount ( or stand mount) flat screen tv mount.
Pretty sleek.

Radion mounting? - Reef Central Online Community

I made a single Radion mount using aluminum flat bar and attached it to the back of the stand on my 50
and another using a product called eztube to mount 3 Radions over the top of my 240.

Hey mfinn we should get our own thread like that going here. Could you post your images and what you did here? I will as well and you might be surprised! LOL!

Reef koi makes some radion hanging kits if you don't want to go thru all the trouble of making some.

I order on a Monday and they arrived on a Friday so good luck.

Do it here?
Or do you want to start a new thread?

I used a AI Ext kit/EcoTech Rail Kit to hang mine! I had the AI kit from where I ordered it for my last tank and it wouldn't work because of my overflow. They make these in black but I already had the silver so I just painted them. The wholes didn't match up for the second set of holes so I had to drill it. Used the short rail kit from EcoTech but they way I wanted to run my lights made them to long. So one of those I just let overlap. It doesn't look perfect but it will do for now. You really can't see it unless your looking down really.

Brackets for the AI Ext kit allow the lights to be raised and lowered as needed.

Excuse the dust from the new build.

When I was looking for a different type of hanger for my Radion, I wanted to get away from the conduit hanger that I used with my T5 fixture.
I saw a thread on reef central where a guy used 2" aluminum bar and made a graceful curve coming from behind the tank up over the top.
I liked the thought of using a single aluminum bar, so I made one only a little different.

I stayed with the bare aluminum for about 10-11 months before I noticed a small amount of corrosion, so I recently had the aluminum powder coated black.

I just made a wall mount. I based the frame off my awnings and omitted the shingles :)
This is the only pic I have on me, I can get a better one when I get home.
This is hidden from view, but if you wanted to make it with nicer boards and accent it with some trim it could turn out pretty cool. Paint or stain it to match the trim in the house and it will look like it is supposed to be there lol.

Oh and the frag tank. You could say it was ugly, or you could say it was really ugly....but it worked lol. I sold that pile of wood already

I am setting up a new tank in my basement and have been trying to think of ways to hang my radions. I have a drop ceiling down there so the standard hanging kit wouldn't work. I think I am going to go with something like Revs design but I'll put my own little twist on it.

Great Thread!!

I also have 3 Radions over my 240 that had to be mounted somehow inside a canopy.
I made the canopy tall enough for metal halide lighting so I had lots of room.
I first looked at reef koi's brackets and as nice as they were, at the time didn't really have the cash for it.
I found a product called eztube.
Product Catalog - Parts, Components, Accessories, Order | EZ Tube - International Designs

They have 1" squared powder coated aluminum tube, with all the necessary connectors.
Very easy to work with and very simple.
I was able to mount these over my tank without being attached to the canopy, make each much easier to remove separately.
