Isn't this advice a little conflicting since you're giving advice on how to operate a UNLS and also advice on high nitrates at the same time? If he's got high nitrates (and I wouldn't consider 4 high) he probably doesn't have a UNLS, and therefore probably has plenty of nutrients, and therefore probably doesn't need aminos?

Are the tips fading to brown, or are they turning white and just getting brown with algae?

They turn brown and later die and get algae on them. I use reef energy, oyster feast, reef chili.

Telling OP to add a Zeovit reactor is pretty bad advice. It seems he is newer to the hobby, and zeovit is not a easy system to run. His nitrates are not even high IMO.

OP...its prob not the lights. I had a 50 gallon growout tank that ran a radion at 45% and grew coral just fine. I would start from the beginning. Start making your own water and mixing your own salt. Do you run carbon or gfo? Any algae in the tank? How do non sps corals look?

I use 0.8 rox carbon along side ROWA phos. I'm using coral pro salt with 0 TDS water

Post some pics of ur tank does it look super clean getting any algae growth if anything is lower the radion to 50% until u see things looking better I'd also how much 2 part r u dosing? If ur sps r not living demand low? R ur dosers dialed in?
Probably a combo of things going on possibly radions issue but when I had issue with mine being too high I was bleaching or frying corals pretty much over night

Love the title, one suggestion, it should read "I'm killing SPS help!!!"

Mine are growing my SPS just fine...

My bet is that the ROWA phos is killing them. I don't run carbon or phos on my system. Yes I have some algae but most of my SPS have thrived for 7+ years. Cut out variables to target what the issue is.

The potency of GFO is often not realized or misunderstood. GFO can rip out P04 overnight, resulting in SPS bleaching. Only the absolutely minimum should be used, only in cases with high bio loads where algae problems are present.

My dosers are dialed in and all my parameters are stable, never jumpy. I've never had a SPS coral bleach.

It came from a tank using ROWA phos with 0 phosphates.

What kind of flow do you have in the tank? In the pics posted, it looks like algae on the tips of the corals. Could it be a flow issue?

Could send off a sample to triton! Might give you some results back that would give you an answer.

Mine were 65% at the highest, 12" above water, 19" tall tank. Currently at 50% because I've expanded my lighting.....

Hi,sorry for my english,IME i have radion for 2 years with great results in sps,but when i made changes in my radion configuration ,i have the same problem in some sps ,only the tips turn brown and growing algae,i think the problem is not in light percent but any color,i change my configuration for ecotech configuration with name color.

Your SPS came from another tank the runs ROWA? That's fine but every aquarium is different. Too many variables to consider, such as bio load, skimming, etc.

In my experience GFO can burn out SPS if PO4 dips too low.

I'm with Logzor. Turn off carbon and GFO. I never run them either. Just water changes and skimming.

Ease up on using all of the additives and increase your water changes.

I like my nitrates to run around 5-10. Definitely not ULNS and never will be. I don't get why you strip all the nutrients only to add them back with additives. Seems wasteful to me.

You have one of the best lights around even at 60% its doing its job I would look elsewhere to find the source of your problem. Get back to basics IMO. Retrace your steps, is there something that you did recently to the tank that could be causing this, get the flashlight out at night and look for pests, WC every other day, dip, are you feeding too much, maybe try different ro/di ect ect. I don't think chemicals and additives are the answer or changing your light all over the place its just going to tick things off. Narrow it down and start eliminating your possible cuases. your light is baller so you can check that off the list =) good luck sir hope it turns around for you

Perfect! So 60% for one unit is good for high light SPS?
