Ya not a bad place to start. Also read over the Coral labs SPS pre made program

Yeah I don't understand how that one works. Is it different set ups within the Coral lab?

When I ran my Radions I simply put them on 12k (with the green and red lowered significantly) and ramped them up from 70% to 100% over a period of a few months and left them on full power (Gen 1 with TIR) until I changed to T5s.

The problem sometimes is messing too much or not allowing the corals time to adjust as it's not going to be an overnight thing.

I agree with what Tyler said though, choose one of the presets you like and give it a month or two to see how the tank reacts.

Ya so you select the Coral lab and select one of the 3 pre made set ups. One is for SPS AB+ Two is SPS PHX14 and three the LPS. For you I'd recommend the SPS AB+ it will be similar to what your looking to do.

If you don't have a par meter you can use a Lux meter and just slowly increase the intensity in 3000 or 6000 lux increments.

Light is pretty simple actually.

Where can I get either of those?

Not sure how good they work, but you can download free Lux meter apps for your phone.

Guess can't hurt to try it.
True, but its not really a meter and can give incorrect results.

Fwiw most leds have a constant conversion number of 60.
SO, 6000 lux is 100 par or so. Do the same math at 55, and 65. Itll give you a good range and idea of your par.
My ai sols at the top of the tank is 40,000 lux at peak.

regardless of the conversion number, if your tank is doing well, you can still use the meter to increase the intensity slowly.

Thinking I may just go with this

One thing you also need to keep in mind is the biological maturity in your tank and nutrient level.

It's a real hard balance to get it right and only you know your tank best. It does take some experience to figure this out on your own. Some tanks can run much higher intensity due to better water quality, while others with the same intensity can fry some corals.

I'm currently at a cross roads with the lighting I want to run over my new display. It's a 76G 42"L X 21"D X 20"H tank.

It's going to be SPS dominate. I've had great success with T5's and currently have a ATI Hybrid over my QT tank with great growth and color.

Do you think (2) Radion Gen4 Pro XR30's would be good coverage on the tank if I were to do them?

I'm between that option, a 36" ATI 8 Bulb Hybrid OR a 36" ATI sunpower with (2) 36" Reefbrites.

I know other aspects of keeping SPS are key of course, but if I could go full LED with equal growth/coloration, who wouldn't?

Those WITH experience on radions & T5's please chime in. Been pondering it for the past month and wanting to pull the trigger soon.

I was having the same problems with an xrpro15 over a 45 gal cube...I just could not find that sweet spot, so I gave up and got drunk....BUT...I am trying again after I move...stay tuned

I also bought an ATI 8 bulb t5 dimmable...looking forward to setting that up...I am giving up on the led
