Radion lights. Why so many for sale?

Hello,

I'm in the market for possibly upgrading my 2 kessil 160 Tuna Blue. It's been a while since I purchased them, about 2 years.
After looking online I have seen many Radions for sale X15 and X30. Are people upgrading for the new models? Or trying something new?

For those that have owned and compared different brands. Could you please share your top 2 or 3 brands in LED lights.

Some may be switching to something else. but most are upgrading to the G5's.

Not in any particular order as they are all great.

Orpheks

I have only owned Radions, but the others have a great following for a reason.

Agreed. With the new ones just coming out, a lot of them are upgrading.

Sounds like this is a good opportunity for people to try them out. I'm on the fence about making the jump to the x30. My only experience so far with led's are the black box and Kessil 160. At the same time I also noticed kessil has a 360x. So many options!

Boy, you aint kidding about them keeping their resale value(radions) most used items go for 50 less but people are barely taking anything off the gen 4's and they could be 4 years old, but of course everyone will tell you there a year old or so. Is there a production date sticker on them Seriously considering buying new since they hold their value so well

Industry statistics show the average reef keeper is in and out of the hobby in less than 24 months. They spend a lot money, and then get bored at the upkeep and realize expensive lights and water changes dont make for an awesome tank. Tank and parts end up for sale because theres no room in the garage and the wife wants a baby room, not a sump.

This market is what radions and other high end lights are aimed towards. The vast majority of hardcore reef keepers I've met in it for the long haul dont use high end lights.
