Why aren't there a lot of people that use the natural shallow or deep reef setting for their radion schedules??? Just curious because I cannot decide on a set schedule and was wondering why no one uses these that often??

Yeah that makes sense....I guess I'm just stuck because almost every schedule online and on websites and Facebook are way to red and bright for my taste....and in trying to figure out if blue light schedules work for sps and lps and if anyone had a successful schedule like that out there....

Yeah i am definitely looking for blue and more natural of a looking color and radiant color still has red going all the was up to 37% and I just don't care for that, I just didn't know if I turned the red way down if that would effect the spectrum too much and end up not being a successful schedule for my acros ....I know my lps will be fine no matter what schedule I do as long as I don't put the lights at 100%.....

Yeah I'm not so sure how important the red part of the spectrum is because if you think most people with t5 lighting don't run red or green. So I'm sure if you are at 20k you will be fine, but I am no expert.

I personally wouldn't use any of the packaged schedules....just import one that is close to what you want and adjust it from there. If you want more blues, stay in the 18-20K spectrum. I don't run my whites any higher than 30%, greens 25%, and reds at 18%. The blues and royal blues are at 100% with the UV maxing out at 60%. My overall intensity maxes out at 60%.

Okay I'll make my own up then also....yours honestly sounds kinda like what i want so I might hAve my schedule peak out at what you just said but maybe a little less green and red...do you have sps at all?

This is what BRS recommends with their 52-day of reefing series. The challenge with LEDs is they are almost too customizable and a lot of folks will go with the already configured option. I have 2 XR15w Pros on seasonal timing with my Apex, but going to go with this plan as well. I am also planning on augmenting with T5 with Blue Plus and Coral Plus bulbs. Thanks for this post.

When you say import one did you mean import somebody's personal schedule and adjust it to my likings or did you mean to use one of the presets ecotech already has made

Yes, I have a mixed reef with about 80% of it being SPS. I have a few LPS (torches, hammers, Duncans) on the bottom edges of the tank, away from the more intense lighting. LEDs are much more intense than they appear.....it doesn't take much to bleach LPS (or even SPS) when the whites are up too high.

You can either import somebody elses schedule or start with one of the packaged schedules......you just need a starting point. I can email mine to you if you want.....you can adjust it to your liking. I ran mine at 20K for a long time and had great color, but very little growth. I recently adjusted it to max out at about 18K and am having much more growth (while keeping the color).

Okay that's sounds a lot like what I am looking for! If you could email it to me that would be great! Email is [email protected]

Just curious why you keep your UV lower.

My personal schedule goes from 0% at 11am to 40% 18k by 1pm, then from 1pm it ramps up to 20k at 50% by 5pm, then back down to 18k at 40% by 9pm then ramps down to moon lighting by 11pm. Moon lighting off by 1am. But I keep my blues and UV at 100% for the full schedule. My understanding is that the radion UV is really beneficial.

Since it isn't good to go from 0 UV (my old fixture) to high levels, I slowly have been acclimating the coral to the UV. I just stopped at 60% because of things I have read that too much is harmful to the coral. I am still researching before I go any higher.

I still didn't get the email for down reason...could you maybe resend it whenever you get a chance...

Thanks!
I sent it again....the first one kicked back for some reason saying the email address was invalid.
