ok so there’s absolutely no info on Radions gen 4 non pro users, are these really not worth it, yes we all know that the pro version are almost a standardt specially for SPS dominant tanks but can anyone using non pro versions shine in on their experiences.... this post is not to debate which are better or worth just would like to see and hears people’s experiences with non pro versions of these lights

It almost feels like there non existent no pro users

Really? I don't know many that use the pro version over standard. Especially since not many use them at 100 percent and really need the pro.

The pro offers a lot more light than the non pro at the 390-430 nm spectrum range which is actually I think considered one of the most important range for corals.

If you go online and try to find anything on the non pro versions there’s lil to be said and most post turn into the “get the pro” watch this post alone turn into a why the pros are better, but I want to hear actual users opinion on these lights or some tanks so if your reading this and use non pro post some pictures. I recently purchased a non pro and from what I read I have to switch Since I’m leanings torwards sps

So are you saying then non pro don’t offer ranges innyhay spectrum ? 390-430 nm?

The non pro spectral charts show a little spike at 390-430 nm but not as much as the pro. I actually have a G4 non pro that I received as a gift. SPS are doing well so far but it's a small tank (20g Innovative Marine). However, if I were to buy one, I'd definitely get the G4 pro. The price difference isn't that much.

I bought my 3 Radion XR30s at the time of the switch over from Gen3 to Gen 4 so the Gen3 Pros and Gen4 were the same price. I got 2 Gen3 Pros and 1 Gen4.

I've got the Gen3 Pros on either end of a 5' tank with the Gen4 in the middle.
Using Ecosmart to program the lights, the spectrum choices look the same.

Doing PAR measurements, all the lights seem to produce the same level of PAR at different depths but I haven't mapped out a precise grid like BRS does.

My tank is a mixed reef. Most LPS are euphyllia and M. lordhowensis on the sand bed at each end under the G3 pros.

SPS consist of Montipora stellata on the left, purple Stylophora center under the G4,
seriatapora hystrix, various millipora, montipora confusa and mystic sunset montipora on the right.

I don't see any difference in growth rate or health of the SPS under the different lights.
The Stylopora under the G4 grows like a weed and is consuming it's neighboring pocillapora and M. digitata.

I have notice that at any given power setting the Gen4 is using 15% less watts then the Gen3 pros do.

I'm running 3 Gen 4 Xr30w non pros along with 4 60" Ati t5s. I just thought the pros were needed for tanks taller than 24"s. Do you know what Ati bulb is closest to 390-430 nm spectrum range? So far I am using 2 blue plus, 1 coral plus and 1 purple plus.

ATI true actinic.

Thank you for the input I’m sure this post will help a few researching on Radions Non pro versions

At what intensity are you running the G4 same as the G3 pros ?

My peak intensity is 32%, 144 watts.
Apex outlet measures 51, 46, 51 watts Left/Center/Right
UV - 100%
RB - 100%
Blue - 100%
White - 20%
Green - 10%
Red - 10%.

Random RAR measurements.
3" below water line = 350
Right front sandbed = 110
Center front sandbed = 83
Left rear sandbed = 100

Anyone running a g3 non pro alongside a pro? Currently running a g3pro alongside a g1 and you can obviously see the major spectrum differences. Going to upgrade the g1 wondering if I should save the extra 100 and upgrade it to the g3 nonpro

I was running a G2 pro and G4 non pro and hardly noticed a difference

I know im late to the party but, i run 3 Radion g4 non pro on a 150 Gallon SPS primary tank with no issues. It was recommended by the aquarium shop that unless i need the extra power.... to save my money. I have no regrets

I acquired two G4 non-pro and one G3 pro I'm running. At least in these, the G3 pro is noticeably less output then the G4 non-pros or at least visually darker. I believe par was a bit lower when I measured too.....all are running the same program and intensity. However, corals are growing fine under all....all SPS. I do wonder about possibly better color and will soon upgrade the G3 Pro to a G4 Pro.

I was thinking of upgrading my xr15 pro to the xr30 non pro on my nano tank. Tbh though i see lightly used xr30 pros for sale on here for the same price as a new non pro. Most of the time they come with a mount too. I figured id just get a used pro for the same price... curious what others have to say though...
