I have been running a china box one foot over my tank for a year and a half. I keep the blue channel at about 50% and the white as low as it goes without shutting off. I just scored a great deal on a gen 3 radion so I'm going to upgrade for some controllability. If I also hang it one foot over the tank then what intensity do you recommend that would be most comparable to my China box. I have a mixed reef but mostly sps.

As Diesel says, use acclimation with whatever template you choose. Set it for 6 weeks with a 65% max intensity.
No matter how hard it will be....leave the light do it's job! Do not mess with it. Corals will fare better with to little light then with to much.
The Radion is no where near comparable to a black box. Different diodes, different optics. Very powerful! Speaking from experience [emoji2]
Any questions feel free to pm me. Good luck & enjoy. You're going to love this light!

Awesome, thanks for the advice. Is there a program that works best for a SPS dominated tank or do most people do their own thing?

It really depends on your tank specs and rock work. Coral Lab has put out some new schedules but I've noticed very many people having to do a whole lot of tweaking to them. Not specifically set up for the average home aquarium.
Which ever one you choose just start low and you'll be fine.

What corals are you going to be keeping. The new coral lab schedules are I big improvment on the old schedules.

The SPS+AB schedule is the one you want to use then.

The other point is that you need to watch the intensity of the light.
If you can get access to a Par meter that will let you see where you need to set it up for your aquarium.
You want a spread for Par readings from 100 at the sandbed to 430in your upper rockwork.
