Radion VS Kessil

I've never owned either, but everything I've read from hobbyists say that kessil doesn't support sps growth enough for the price tag. Have you checked Mike Herman for pricing on his sb line of black boxes. Custom layout, and spec, true uv, and at a fraction of the price of either. I just ordered myself one.

I can't see how that is the case. The A360 has UV built in and I can't run it over 75% without nuking everything in my tank. This argument is an old one to be honest. LED can grow the same as any other light out there. You may not like the color but that's a personal preference built on the ability to pick bulb combinations with t5 or temperature with MH.

i dig the color of kessil. I think thats why you see more people using them for accent with mh, t5, or other leds. I just know you see alot of used ones for sale, and I've seen more than a few make the claim that they wouldn't support sps. Again though, I've never owned one.

"You" was the royal you there, not you personally. I've seen older 150 and 350 mostly rather than the newer ones. However I've generally seen a lot of churn in used LED fixtures as new features become available and new technology comes out.

What do you like better about the Radions? I haven't seen one in person.

I personally use Kessils as I love the look and shimmer but both LED's are high quality with excellent customer service. If you use Kessils go with two or three connected to a Spectral Controller. My only dislike is the blue channel only dims to 13% without the controller and 5% with controller. This isn't dim enough to get a true moon light effect. Radions, on the other hand will basically cover all your needs and the unit is updatable. Which should factor into your choice. A Kessil isn't updatable(unfortunately) Radion's also cover more spectrums and have more features. If you choose radion I would go with two. But one is certainly enough. All in all, but lights are excellent and top of the line in the Reefing hobby. You should also consider Kessil AP700

One more question, I didn't read the thread entirely but what coral are you looking to keep? If your looking to go full blown SPS a T5 setup with Kessil or radion accent would be a expensive but effective choice
