Hey guys so I just purchased 2 xr15 G4 pros and this will be the first time running a light with this much contolability. I run black boxes on my main display and bought these for my frag tank underneath my tank. Im pretty sure this should not be an issue for the lights. But anyways im more looking for advice on what settings/preset to use with these. I am looking for growth and color and I don't care how the color of the lights look as I won't be really seeing it all that often. I was thinking of using one or the other presets: High growth or AB+ any ideas on which one would work best for my app;lication. This is a 36ft long by 9in deep by 11in tall which equates to about 15 gallons. The lights will be mounted another 11 or so inches off the waterline. I did get the bundle which includes diffusers which I may use to help protect against salt.

I think you should go with the ab at first then the high growth just to acclimate them.
They are small but powerful lights so start out on low power like 40 and work way up over time.

Yes you can raise and lower power.
You can also select auto acclimate over whatever time period you want.
Its all in the EcoSmart app you download.

I second the AB+ sps spectrum. I also recommend either renting a par meter or buying a seneye for the par meter. I run my xr15s with diffuser on the AB+ SPS at 100% intensity approximately 8" off the surface with each light covering an 18x18 area and I get anywhere from 175 to 275 par from the sand bed to about 5-7" below the surface of the water on my 40B

Was it 100% only max 275? I don’t have diffusers on, I am running radiant color at 40% and I get about 200-250 on my high level acros. I hang my lights about 15” away from the water surface.

6" under the surface directly below the lights it was around 330 to 350 but my rock work isnt directly under them. There more towards the back of the tank. With the AB+ sps preset at 100% intensity, the lights are using 69% of their total power.

For the most part my light provides a nice blanket of par and works really well for my mixed reef though I did take advantage of the BRS g4 sale and picked up a third xr15 and diffuser so I'll have to redo my par map and intensity
