I'm setting up my 120g 4x2x2. It's going to be another mixed reef.
I'm really leaning toward 3 Radion XR15 G5 Blues for this tank. Thoughts on that being enough?
One other thought: My tank does have a center brace. Should I mount a light over the center or ???

I think you should get 2 Radion XR30 G5 Blue.

Even 2 Radion XR15 G5 Blue should be fine.

Don't know what type of corals you plan to add to your tank.

I went with 2 XR30 blues on my 90 4ft tank with center brace SPS dominant and it's great plenty of par all I need

I’d go with two XR15s, tbh. Two XR30s is basically four XR15s and you’ll have to turn them down a good bit to have lower PAR areas for your soft and LPS. I have two XR15 Pro and it handles SPS well up high (about 8-10” below surface, light 9” above), and gives me lower PAR areas down low. I’m only adding two more XR15s because I’m going SPS dominant and need better spread to combat shading.

BTW, Blues are a good choice. I got the Pro because I thought the Blues would be “too blue”, but running AB+ on the Pro looks great; I’m just missing out on the extra power the Blue model would give me running the same setting.

As a newbie, I've gone over the BRSTV LED analysis videos 100 times in the last month. In case you haven't seen it, check out the BRSTV Investigates G5 XR15 video. Basically it uses lots of data points to say what @cshouston recommends. I bought two XR15 Blue for my Reefer 350 (48x20x21). I bought Blue based on the premise that (allegidly) you can't screw things up even when using 100% of all channels. I figure that I can add two more XR15 or a T5 hybrid as I gain more experience and if I want to have a more SPS dominant tank.

I’m very familiar with the BRS videos. The reason I’m asking is because they say 2 for softies and 4 for SPS, but they don’t mention mixed reefs. I have a PAR meter, so I’m not concerned with getting the right levels. I just don’t want to buy more lights than I really need.

I have 4 xr15 pros over my 5 foot tank. I get plenty of light. If you have a par meter I’d get 2, and measure the par. You can always keep adding them until you are happy.

Exactly my thoughts! I’m going with two. I’ll see what my readings are and can always add more!

I have 3 Radion G5 XR 15 blue on a 120G 4x2x2. And I'm going only sps.
All my 20 frags are doing great. I don't believe in spending more money on lights and turning them down, what's the point. XR 15's have more flexibility because you can always add one more if you need..

But with a tank with a center brace don’t you feel the center light that is over brace is a waste of money anyways? So then how would you fit more then 2 lights over a center braced tank anyways?

What intensity and how high are your whites set at. I have a 60 gallon 3ft tank and have 2 G5 XR 15 blues and I am concerned there is not enough PAR without going to 100% for intensity and whites.

I have my 4 pros 10 inches awl at 90% AB+. I’m getting 320ish at the top of my rock scape, and about 150-180 on the glass bottom. 5 foot tank.

I'm about to put some xr15 blues over a red sea reefer 300xl . I got two lights. I want a mixed reef. Acans scollys lobos on the bottom and sps acros on top. The problem I'm having now is how to create my aquascape. Any suggestions? I think the brs recommend height was 7 inches off the surface of the water. I'll probably go with that . How far up should I build my scape?
