Hello everyone, I just got an XR 15 Pro that I plan on mounting over my 32 EXT Fiji Cube that will be arriving this week and I’m a bit confused on how to mount it. I am assuming I won’t be able to mount it over the middle of the tank with the single RMS mount as it wouldn’t be able to fit over the overflow.

I’ve been considering some kind of universal mounting option from the sides of the tank or the back to allow me to hang it over the tank or perhaps the multi light track system with just the single light in the middle.

What options would you recommend?

thanks in advance everyone!

I also have a tank with an external overflow and I went with a cheap tv mount from Amazon and hung my lights from that. im glad I did, love the look of it and nothing is on top of my tank.

I don’t like the look of wires hanging from my 9 foot ceiling and imo there is no good way to route the wires from the lights back to the wall and under the stand without it looking awkward.
To each their own.

Best option for a single xr15 would be to go with 2020 rails, and the rest of the parts can be printed for a fair and affordable rate.

the rail can be mounted in the tank, wall, or ceiling..

My suggestion was actually for the OP.
But yeah, each to his own.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I live in an apartment so I’m trying to avoid drilling into the walls or ceiling. I’m considering a mount that I can attach to my Fiji cube stand

Got it, and understand.

If you have access to the back of your stand, maybe a diy solution.
I made a bracket out of aluminum that attached to the back of the stand out of 2" x 3/8" aluminum bar.
Spray painted black.
I made mine with 45 degree bends. The idea came from a picture I saw on Reef Central where a guy made one that curved out over the top. Nice graceful curve.
I see diy options using different aluminum products that are pretty cool.

Here is mine.

You can also consider bent conduit pipes or 8020 aluminum extrusion but both are DIY options.

As a landlord drilling into walls are not a big deal and are patched pretty easily. Most have to repaint to refresh the apartments anyways.
Good luck.

How can I order these 3D printed mounting parts for XR15?

I have a similar issue, can an RMS mount not swivel left or right where you screw on the hex bolt where the bit that attaches to the light is bolted onto the actual arm?

I mounted mine with galvanized pipe. Cost me $18
