That light is PLENTY!!! I have one over my tank and grow Clams on the sand and SPS where ever I want. I posted an XR15 Par chart in another thread, but I'll put it here for you.

and here is a recent photo of my tank...

One LFS I go to says they have to dial down the intensity on the XR15s, so it will work perfect for your size tank.

I ended up purchasing Kessils, as I saw them in person and got hooked on that shimmer. I'm actually looking to sell my current ones and upgrade to the AP-700.

Bottom line: if Radions are what you choose, you won't be disappointed. They are what most LFSs use.

Exactly! I only run mine at 70%. But MAKE SURE to use the acclimation mode on them! You will not me disappointed!

It's plenty because you don't have much in your tank.
Once sps start growing in the OP will have lots of shading problems.
The problem isn't intensity... it's COVERAGE.
Any tank with sps really needs to have almost full coverage of led to avoid the dreaded CONE effect from LED lighting.
One Xr30 or multiple 15's would be the way to go if using Radions.

My ap700 should be arriving this afternoon. but i love my xr15 over a red sea 130d. makes the coral color really pop. pics dont do it justice. but i will say one of my favorite lights over a nano cube is the kessil 350 (normal lens). this light really penetrates. although there is no control it has to be the most natural looking light Ive seen over a tank. Like rays of sunshine beaming in.I'm replacing two 360w over a 90g with the new ap700, so looking forward to some improvement. The wide lens of the 360w really doesnt penetrate that well. Ill put them over a smaller shallower tank and they should be fne.

Please let me know your hands-on impression of the AP-700, from the perspective of someone that's upgrading their Kessils.

I'm upgrading from a 6 ft, 220 gallon to an 8 ft, 300 gallon...which will require an additional light purchase. I'm thinking of throwing an AP-700 into the mix.

I had the 360WEs on a 30" deep tank, and I didn't notice an issue with light penetration. The yellow on certain corals looked more like neon glow sticks than a true yellow (at depth), which bugged me a bit...but I wasn't running the lights at full intensity either (was slowly acclimating). The overall "wow factor" of that shimmer is amazing.

the first pic is the cube with the xr15pro, just softies and lps. The next pics are of my new set up. Only 2 months old so the rock is looking rough. No real corals in there, just a couple to gage. The one pic is with the 360w and a 350 in the middle, which I never ended up using. The other two are the Ap700 mounted quickly with the goosenecks. The bracket fits perfectly, except the screw holes need to be slightly larger. The light is only about 9" off the surface, so it probably needs to be a couple inches higher.
There isnt an Android app avaiable yet so I can only play with the buttons, but so far I'm liking it. The clam is responding well.

So to help the guy that originally created this thread:

If you could start anew and money was no object, would you get XR30s or AP-700s...and why?

ouch, Its to early to say. I think the op was wondering about a xr15pro over a cube. If thats the case I would choose the Radion over any of the Kessils. The ap700 would be way overkill for a smaller tank like a 24x24 cube. Ive tried the 360 and 350 over the cube and liked them both. But the xr15pro really does a great job, and I cant see how anyone would be disappointed with it. I can also say if I'm even the least bit disappointed with the ap700 I'll sell it and replace it with 2 Radion xr30's without even thinking. I was originally going to go with the Radions but then kessil announced the release date and a good deal for pre order, so I thought I'd give the Kessils one more go. Plus I would need 2 xr30 as oppposed to one ap700 so that played a big part as well. If I had to choose right this minute between the xr30 and the ap700 ( only knowing what i know now, remember no app) I'd choose the xr30. Why, because I know 100% I would not be dissappointed.

will do. i'm liking it more and more as every minute passes. the ap700 is definitely a Kessil. The shimmer is out of this world.
