Having trouble finding what the spread is on the XR30/15 G6 spread. I think it is 24x24? Would one 30 cover a 36x36 area (IM 112 tank) or would I need two 15's?

The stated spread is 24x24 for an XR15 and 36x24 for an XR30, although this is slightly more with the new G6. If you're not planning to run a lot of SPS a single XR30 would probably give you enough coverage (otherwise you'll probably want a pair of XR15s).

I am considering the same tank for an SPS dominant reef. It looks tricky to light the 36” depth. I was planning on starting with 2 XR30 G6 or 2 ReefBreeders Photon (probably the better option).

its not 36" depth, 20". 36x36 are the bottom dimensions

thanks. thats what I was thinking but your confirmation makes me feel more confident

My tanknis 36x22x22 and I have 2 XR15 lights on a mixed reef. They are very week par lights. I run them at 100% intensity on AB program to achieve barely enough par for my mixed reef.

Running 3 XR15 G6 Blues over a IM 100EXT. All SPS system, more than enough PAR. Running the AB+ config at 85% intensity.

What did you end up going with Bubbles? I'm in the same boat.

I would personally consider running an Aquatic Life T5 hybrid over a tank this wide. About 10” off thebwater.

If you want to just go LED, I would do 2xHydra 32 oriented front to back, each about 15” from the side (so both slightly inset to the middle of the tank).

I would do 2 Photon 32's for that system. I run 2 50's on my ext 170.
4 15's or 2 30's for an all acro system.
I run 3 gen 5 15's on my ext 50.
With the third 15 I was able to get 100 more par than 2 with complete coverage.
2 32's would cover that system real well and cost roughly the same as 1 xr30. Something to think about anyway.

32 V2 Pros are $760. so roughly $1500, spicy.

How do you like the tank design and cabinetry so far?

Sorry I was thinking of a different post for cost. They are worth the money, imo.

Tanks are very nice. I got both with the sumps.
Ext 170: im getting 270-350 par on the top with the 2 running.
Red 30%
White 50%
The rest 65%
You can get a very halide like look if you raise the white. Very good colors/growth and the blue look on ramp up/down.
Each 50 has 20 whites so I have 40 whites on this system.
The IM systems are very well designed, imo.
Current ext 170.

Very nice. Last question, what was your light mounting solution? The euro brace and depth is proving problematic.

I used 8020 and made a cabinet 12" from the wall and attatched the 50's as shown. I can slide them out of the way if I need full access.

I just went with a single Hydra32 and dropped in an octopus. Didn’t need much light. But if you were looking for a single light, I’d check out the Stratton. I was dreaming of winning the Natura Icon so I’d only need to buy one additional light but I’m sure @tbrown will win.

There's 10 of those available. I hope you win!
