want some feedback, putting in a lot of coral frag tanks, buying used lighting as much as possible, want to see if the gen 3 and or gen 4 radions are really still viable compared to new offerings like smatfarm, hyperreef, noopysche. hear nothing but raves for the ab + spectrum that you can do with the radions but not even sure it applies to these older models, any direction highly appreciated, thanks in advance

Depending on how they were driven and how long will determine " wear and teàr" on the output.
The semis will "fade" first.
The spectrum holds it's own.

As long as you're covering the basics, the spectrum is less important than the overall amount of light you provide the tank. Anything that has dimmable channels - which includes those older Radions - is capable of the AB+ spectrum (or close enough to not matter). @oreo54 is correct in that the bigger thing to worry about is how much output has been lost due to the age of the fixture. LEDs fade as they are used more, so they likely are not putting out as much light as they originally were. Only way to be sure is to use a PAR meter.

If it was viable back then, it's still viable today. The requirements of corals haven't changed since then.

Are the specifications for the G4’s? How did you find out the brand and gen of LED’s. Interesting as mine have burned out and want to replace with new ones.
