Additional Info:

1) The fixture looks similar in design/looks but the internals have changed
2) A G3 to G4 upgrade is not possible due to these changes
3) New heatsink, optics, and LEDs
4) New optics that are claimed to improve light spread considerably
5) Two additional channels/LEDs/colors are warm white and violet

What do you guys think?

God bless you, I was about to order the G3 pro in the next few days, but was wondering if I was making a mistake due to a possible new release soon lol

I think you know more than the "leaked" flyer! Neat! ;)

Trust me. That's all I know. lol Wish I knew more. I'm very interested in the warm white channel as I believe they make separate red leds obsolete. Or at least you can turn the reds off and still get the red from the warm whites.

Cool, but should be controllable from iPhone etc without reeflink.
Would be too easy to do these days.

Agreed! Requiring reeflink at the price these go for is ridiculous.

It's like buying an iPhone that needs to be replaced every two-three years. Great product but the constant innovation is frustrating and more reason to stick with bulbs & ballasts. You may as well have a monthly perpetual subscription payment to EcoTech and they upgrade you as new lights come out.

Actually iPhones nor lights need to be replaced that often. People are just spoiled nowadays.
I'm referring more to getting newer products up to par especially since cheaper units and their now owned Hydra line has built in wifi.

Will see this at MACNA would be nice if they continued the ability to upgrade but will see. But this is not a big upgrade for the Radion.

Looking forward to more information and pricing.

Will there be an upgrade path for previous-generation Radion owners to G4?
No. Unfortunately, the technical improvements in the G4 required the use of a new heatsink,
clusters, lenses and driver board. Because of these changes the shared parts between
the G4 and previous-model Radions are minimal.

Can the HEI lenses be used on previous-generation Radions?
No. The HEI lenses will not fit on prior Radion models because the diode placement on
G4 clusters is different and because the heat sink and cluster position relative to the
baseplate of the Radion is different.
How long will the G3 and G3PRO Radions be supported?
EcoTech will continue to support G3-version Radions for a minimum of 24 months after the
production change to G4.

My question would be is this a permanent change on upgradability of Radion's? As that was a selling point for Radion's to current owners.
Will the G4's be able to upgraded in the future? We are we seeing a trend with Apex and Ecotech now just releasing new equipment without any thought to their previous user base and previous selling points. Will be interesting to watch for the next few months.:)

Well versions upgradability are all the time limited...upgrades are ok until a certain stage, then if you want to go a step forward unfortunately you need to let behind older versions...
For sure the new G4 will be upgradable in future but again until certain upgradability and then all will start again.
