I just won a new Radion XR30x in a lfs raffle, and I plan on installing it over my lps/sps tank.
The tank is 30" x20" x 20" and has branching type lps and encrusting monti's and favias.
The Radion came with the TIR lens upgrade kit.
Should I install the lens kit or leave them off?

I'm assuming the lens kit will help focus the light downward. So by not installing them will I get a slightly wider pattern?

Exactly.

Precisely..its up to you on what you want to do. if you have more light needy corals down towards the bottom then id say go ahead and get the lenses, if not i wouldn't bother

Those lights are so powerful, you do not need lenses. Trust me, I run mine at 70% or it will fry my sps and everything else. I have a 22" tall tank, they are 16" above waterline.
