I have two Radion XRW15 G4 Pros with a reef link controller. When they work, they're marvelous, but I'm posting to find out if anyone else has had the issue below.

About 2 weeks ago one of my fairly new (2 month old) Radions just died. It was bricked and I had to contact (eco)Tech support to get a replacement. They took my credit card info and the next day I had a brand new Radion. I returned the dead one and was not charged for the new unit.

At first, the new Radion would not take into the program. It wasn't until I deleted my profile and added a new one that it responded. So now it showed both my Radion's. The problem was that I could no longer program a schedule into my existing Radion. The new Radion took the program no problem, but the old one would time out whenever I tried to do anything with it.
Though, the light seemed to respond to my original program. What's worse is that USB port gives me no connection to the device at all.

I spoke with tech support and they told me to reset both radions and the reef link. Then log into Reef Link live and select devices. My Radions were then supposed to start working like they did when I first bought them.

They didn't. So, being a genius, I decided to remove the non-responsive Radion from the program grouping. Mistake. Now I can no longer acquire a connection with the existing Radion.

I told Tech support about this, but have to wait until they get in.

In the meantime, I was hoping maybe someone on here Might have had a similar experience and know a work around.

Thanks

I, unfortunately, can't help but you may be able to join the EcoTech Owners Club on Facebook and they're usually pretty good about troubleshooting these issues before tech support returns.

I had the same problem with one of my xc30 pro not responding. I did the same thing as you did. Unplug the non working light and plugged it back in but the other light wasn't responding. so I just unplugged both of them and plugged them back in. Then I just refresh my reeflink and everything works. if that doesn't work for you. try deleting both lights from your profile. reset both lights by unplugging and plugging them back in. then let reeflink do a search for the lights and add them to your profile. btw have you checked/updated the lights firmware?

I will try this today, right now both lights are following a schedule, but one cannot be discovered or changed in any way.

I cycled the lights in every form. I still cannot enroll Radion #1.

I am waiting for when I can talk to Tech support before I delete the entire setup. Between the holiday and work, it's been impossible to reach out to them.
Updates to follow.

Spent some time with Ecotech on the phone today. They were able to help me program both units back into the reeflink.
I had to leave to go back to work. When I got back home I attempted to program the lights to a new template.
Not only did I get an error message, the newer of the two Radions dropped out completely and the one I could discover greyed out. I have zero control over my lights and I'm beyond frustrated.

I asked EcoTech to replace my reeflink and 2 radions, I'll report back what they say.
I shouldn't be having this issue with lights I just purchased months ago.

The Reeflink can be touchy. When I used one a while back, it was a pain to get working. I had to remove my lights and completely rebuild. Wish you luck!

Hey Salty,
I'm finding this out very quickly.
I've rebuilt the lights multiple times, even though I can get them into the system, they literally become useless once connected.
I paid way too much money to have lights that cannot follow even a simple program.

I hope they resolve this for me.

Especially since I've been considering purchasing Vortechs too.

I feel your pain my friend. I recently added a third xr30 pro g3, worked a couple of days then crapped out. Same as you, echotech sent a new one. Now, every time I change program, the new light may or may not update. Word of caution on the vortech, mine keeps defaulting to a minimal setting (1 LED on controller). Ecotech had me update firmware but still derating sometime during program. None of my settings are below 50%. I'm still holding out hope their product is as good as their marketing, but reality is beginning to settle in.

I'm in the technology business. My manufacturers have had similar issues with newly released products.

This can either make or break them.

I just hope they have integrity enough to understand my frustration and rectify the issue.

When those lights work, they are great!

Did you attempt to update them? I don't see anywhere you stated they were updated to the latest firmware. I didn't have these issues when I ran the G4 XR15 and XR30 Pro. I updated after installation and didn't have any issues reaching them via the reeflink. I, also, had a mp10WQD and MP40WQD connected to the reeflink.

Sorry, yes. I updated them multiple times, including the reef link.
Both times I had to go through USB.
Both times it appeared that the update went through, but I could not verify because I cannot connect to either light.

Update:
After talking with tech support today, I learned that the only supported browser types for EcoSmart live is chrome and safari.

Downloaded chrome and was finally able to add my second Radion. Though, I still have issues with it programming to a new schedule.

They are sending me a new Radion, because the one I'm having issues with has no connectivity on USB. Which looks like the beginnings of a bigger problem.

I experiencd connectivity issues with my brand new XR15 pro g4s as well for the first couple of hours until I tried chrome. Now they connect every time.

Good luck!

I found it is best to connect via USB, set and store required lighting schedule, disconnect USB and then leave the light alone.
No constant tinkering!

I used chrome as well (typically do) and I didn't have any issues with my first two g4's. Last one will show up next week.

My replacement Radion is showing up today.
The techs at Ecotech believe that my defective Radion is causing RF interference with my working Radion. Ultimately making both of them useless.

I will install the new Radion tonight and pray that it fixes my issues.
