Somebody was telling me today to drop my uv from 100% to 20% as uv makes corals shrink? How true is that? My xr30 pros ab+ profiles comes witn 100% on uv. Just wondering

You're good - most canned profiles I've seen are 100% UV. I've been running this for months and have seen excellent growth.

Right now i run 7 am to 3:00 pm. Was wondering if thats too short for corals? Or i can increase

I have never heard about that- I am running both my Radion lights and AI ones with 100% UV

How many hours! I feel 8 hours too short
8 hours on full with 1.5 hour ramp up/down in either end.

Do you have any objective evidence to support your feeling? Are you experiencing any issues? :-)

Did they mean real UV or what EcoTech calls those diodes? Those diodes are violet, not true UV. You can put violet diodes whereever you like them. True UV is much more complicated where UVA is quite good for most corals and can give energy and make them look better. UVB can be harmful. UVC is death to most corals.

The details matter here a lot. EcoTech as lied about their diodes being true UV to sell units and it sucks because it confuses people. True UV diodes are short lived and need replaced quite often.

hey, are u sure? i ask why a gen6 should have 395nm diodes.. that’s real uva…

feels real, if i use it @100% a few corals shrink together… idk ‍♂️ maybe the number of lights counts too, maybe there is a point, where it is too much.

salty greetings
