I’m setting up a new CD 205g and I’m debating if I should keep my gen 4 and gen5 radions or switch and get 3 Neptune sky. I have a full apex already so controlling the sky’s would be much easier (not that programming radions is hard) I just like the idea of being able to control everything from my phone. That being said my radions have never let me down and will grow anything I put in my tank. I’m asking others with the Sky’s already running for months if there sps is looking better then ever or is it hard to tell which is better. Thanks

I wouldn’t change anything that isn’t broke . If your happy with the way your tank looks is all that matters . I’ve checked out the sky and personally can’t visually see a difference , you can alter the look of the radions by changing spectrums but if it’s looks good and your having success I wouldn’t . Not saying one is better than the other but for me the cost to shell out for lights when you don’t have to doesn’t make sense .

Sky's do seem to have a little better spread from the larger panel but it's mostly a lateral move IMO.

Everyone I've seen who has the Sky loves them. Plenty of people out there with them at this point.

seems a big layout for an incremental increase in spread from my perspective - lots of Gen4 owners wonder what the increment value of the Gen5 is...

No need for the switch especially for a newish light. IMHO it makes more sense if someone asked to switch from radions to hydras.
if it ain't broke, don't fix it

Seems like a needless “upgrade” to a less proven light…I’ve never used skys and haven’t heard many people singing their praises. Radions are the gold standard.

This would be an opinion and anecdotal. Plenty of people happy with their SKY's.

OP - suggest make a list of what you are looking for in a light, how long you intend to use them, future upgrades, and budget. There are some other choices that may also work if you really want to upgrade.

I think the bigger question is do you really need to upgrade? The G4 is still a decent kit.
