Radions worth it for mixed reef?

Yeah I agree, I’m not too worried about the price, but do you think 4 XR15s is enough for the 5ft mixed reef?
I think three would be fine for that size depending on how close together your sps are. The Radion xr 15 blues are what I have and I’m very happy with them . I get a good spread for mixed . Each one will cover a 24 inch cube section well .

I’m upgrading my tank and I’m stuck on lighting. New tank is 5ft, 2 feet deep (width). Current plan is 4 XR15s for good spread. Planning on doing a mixed reef, acros and euphyllia mostly. Setup of the rock will be 2 separate islands, with lots of room for my fish to swim. Picture below for an example of how I want my scape to look. I also prefer lights that have mounting arms, as my wife won’t allow me to hang any lights.

I’ve heard so many mixed opinions on lighting, and I know that water parameters and stability are much more important but I want good, quality lighting so that I know my lights won’t be the issue. My current AI Hydra 32 is growing my acros in my current tank just fine, so I’m confident in my ability to control parameters.

Current options are radions, reefi uno, Reefbreeders. I’d prefer not to supplement with T5s, LED strips etc. Thank y’all in advance!

For reference: I'm running 2 XR15s on a 36 inches long tank. Par is over 350 side to side on top of rock, 300 on the middle of the tank and like 180 to the sand. I lowered the intensity to 75% and ad 2 LED bars to help with shadows. Mine is SPS dominant.

I have two XR15 G6 Pro's mounted on a RMS rail on my 5 foot RSR 525 and was debating on getting 3, but decided to see how 2 did. The spread is pretty insane. I had to get some 2 inch tall light shades printed from neonreef3d so that the entire living room wasn't constantly blue. I think 3 XR15 G6's would be plenty for a mixed reef or even an SPS dominant one.

Have you measured your par??

Have you measured your par??
Nope. But if this is anything to go by, I do have acro and monti frags on the bottom and they are growing fine, I have LPS on all levels of the tank that are starting to split. My fruity pebbles frag that I put at the top middle of the tank has doubled in size in two months, and I'm at the point where I need to start dosing soon.

Intensity under the light would be a bit more with thr 30s than 15 as the dual lights are closer than what you would have with the 15s ... Still I believe you would get the intensities you are after with 15s you can start with 3 and build up gradually . I'm on g4 pros so believe with g6 you would get better par and spread all over .
Check pricing difference of the complete setup, 2 30s vs 4 15s and 2 rsm for 30 vs 4 for 15 that might help you decide.
