I can't speak for the Gen 4 but I have a non pro gen 3 and a pro gen 3 and in my opinion the pro gen 3 looks much better. I don't think it grows anything better but the colors look better visually.
they're on the same tank so I'll take a picture later you can't tell during the day but as it winds down to the end of the night it switches to 20K and the difference is huge. Hopefully the camera will do it justice

Best picture I can get, both on reef lab AB.
The left is the non pro, which is a bit more purple, the right is the pro which has a deeper blue.
And I was wrong about the generations. It's a gen 3 non pro, and a gen 2 pro.
Don't have any popping coral at the moment, had a major loss when I moved the tank a while back and I'm just letting it sit for a while. Plus I have a 1 year old so time is an issue.
If I could do it again I'd go pro
