so im contemplating on getting a radion led set for my cube setup, and of course the thunderstorm setting is pretty neat but i was just wondering if it has any adverse effects on the tank life, i mean the flashing looks more like a club scene than a stormy night imo.. any input?

No, it does not harm the tank at all.
IMO, I'd not drop a dime on something that your never going to use, and is not a significant part of our systems lighting requirements.

I would be concerned about fish being spooked by the flashing lights. I have noticed that when my T5's go on or off, the fish seem startled.

Agreed I actually was at my lfs today an they had there thunderstorm setting on but it was the basic flash of white lights it was pretty cool the fish seemed to respond like a legit storm was going on I don't know if that's good or bad though. I'm sure it's a little stressful but nothing compared to what a real storm is like. They stayed very close to the rocks and the bottom portion of the tank, but no one was darting quickly or seemed to be having an epileptic attack so I think it's ok. Definitely cool to observe that's forsure.

This is a cool but I do not use this setting. It spooks my fish, I just use the sunup to sundown setting, beginning with nice blues and ending with blues. they seem to love it , more natural to them

I only have a pair of clowns and they do not like the thunder storms at all; I only let it run for a few days, after complaints from the wife I disabled the feature.

I am setting up a new frag tank with a Ocean Revive Arctic-S026, I couldn't convince the wife to allow me to spend another $650.

My Vegas have the storm option. It freaks out my fish, so I don't use it. I think it is ultimately for human enjoyment rather than the fish.

None of my fish are scared of the thunderstorm on my ai nano led.even the new baby clowns I added.doesnt scare them at all

Our problem wasn't the fish it was the owner when 5 of them start flashing the first few min are cool but it goes on for close to 30. It gets tiring fast.

Have five radions, used it once till the FD showed up in the evening when weren't home and they thought it was an electrical fire. Luckily my son was home to tell them it was the fish bowl. Go figure!
