Radium bulbs

No I'm not overdriving them. I'm using the the galaxy dimmable ballast and not running them overdriven so I can get more life out of the bulb.

Jose could you explain overdriven MH to me? I knew you could due it with T5's didnt know you could do it with MH too.

The Galaxy ballast overdrives 400 radiums, but this is the preffered look.

I would check out hellolights.com They have free shipping on halide bulbs and the prices are usually pretty low compared to other sites.

Check it out with a killowatt meter. The 400 Radium is supposed to draw 360watts, I think I measured over 400 watts at the 400watt setting and 420 at the Turbocharged setting.

O crap. I dont have a meter so I was going by what others had told me before about the bulb and ballast combination. So with it pulling more than 400w how long should I keep these bulbs in?

My only concern about getting it from that website is that the title of it says "Radium HRI-T400W/230/B/E40 20K 400 Watt Aquarium Lamp". What does the HRI-T and the /230/B/e40 mean. Is it the same radium as all other radium bulbs.

I'm pretty sure HRI-T means it is a tube shaped bulb. 400W = 400 watts. E40 is the base type where the bulb screws in. Not sure what the 230/B is about. I think I'm looking at the same site you are. I'd feel safe ordering them. If I hadn't recently replaced mine, I'd buy them from this place. Good price, cheaper than what I paid for mine.

socaltropicalfishoutlet always hooks people up idk about the 400 but the 250 watts were cheapest on the market by far.
