Is there ballast reason why Radium only has 20k in 150 DE only? I have seen tanks running the 20k 250 watt and love the color but why only in SE. I have been running Pheonix for a few years now, but I want to switch back to 20k like I had years ago. I think the colors were better.

I have no idea as to why. Have you ever thought of making the switch to SE?

If you are running the correct ballast for de bulbs the 250w 14k phoenix look almost identical to a radium.
What I found was de bulbs like phoenix need to be run off m80 Ballasts or the colors just don't look rite
I beat my head against the wall trying different bulbs when I had electronic ballasts and until I switched to m80's the color was never rite
I did find a 250w de radium online but it was a while back, if I find it I will post a link but I think if you ran m80 ballasts with the 250w phoenix you would be happy.
What ballasts are you running now.
Even with se radiums they are supposed to be run off m80 ballasts.

I agree with the phoenix. I run 400w radiums on my main tank and 250w phoenix on the frag tank next to it on a m80, and they look almost identical.
