I'm in the process of setting-up a new system. Nothing much to see so far but it's a start!

Looks like a great start and you did your research on the frame work of the stand - looks solid! What are you plans for the stand as far as skinning/paint color etc.?

I built the rock structures and backgrounds from Marcos Rocks, plastic zip-ties, and pond foam. I'm surprised it actually worked out! I was a little worried about the towers, lol

You might know this already by you can use acrylic rods for extra support. You can drill through the rocks and just slide the rods in there. The rods I used are clear and very hard to see.

Aquariums on the stands. This is not my lighting, lol, just a halide utility light to illuminate it for the pictures.

This is a His and Her's setup the 135G is mine and her's is a 90G (I had to assert my masculinity and get a bigger one, lol, actually I've been in the hobby longer and she insisted that I get one larger, I didn't argue with her logic).
The 90 Gallon,

I had considered this but it seemed like more work. I did drill holes, or made larger existing holes, that I used to connect the pieces with zip-ties. After putting on the pond foam the pieces were rock-solid (pun intended) and I could drop them on the floor from on up high and I don't think they'll break. Although I'm not willing to try. The 135G is eurobraced and it was a little scary lowering the arch into the tank around the bracing, it was heavy!

The stands are also framing for a wall. The 135G will be a partial room divider with space at the one end. The 90 is going to be in-wall and picture framed. All will have drywall, paint, and trim. The area behind the tanks will be our fish room. That's where we have our current temporary setups.

Wow, off to a great start. I will have a room divider one day :) I always thought it would be cool to plumb two tanks together with large pipe so fish and other things could go between tanks.

The tanks are going to be connected with a common sump so we can share our water volume. I have seen some setups where people connect their tanks thru the sides with bulkheads or have a U-shaped piece that hangs over the tanks' edges and the fish can swim back and forth. Pretty sweet.

Yeah, thats what I meant. haha. That would be cool to have a setup like that.

That 90gal wall looks awesome. Should give it a great look once that covers in coraline algae.

Here are a few shots from today of my corals in their holding tank, which is actually a 40 gallon us plastics tub. I apoligize for the poor photos these are top downs with no porthole. I do have some flatworms that I'm dealing with but I've been working to eradicate them. I'm also currently setting up a 20 Gallon quarantine tank where all the livestock will be transitioned through to the new system.

I used to have many corals, however, I have moved my tanks twice in two years so unfortunately I have lost a lot of livestock. At one point I had over 100 different zoanthids/palythoas. I definately do NOT have that many now

Great looking build! Looks like you have some real nice critters to go in there too. Are you going to keep the Xenia?

I like that Christmas Tree coral you have in there. Those are pretty cool with all the feathers that pop out. Looks like you have some nice clams in there a well :) Surprised Skinz didn't mention them :)
