I gotta lean with you on that assessment @NY_Caveman
If its going south would think coloration will fade rather fast. Maybe just maybe upping light intensity was to soon to fast/ unneeded. Will see what it does back on my custom 80% settings that saw it free of debris and recoloring nicely.

Live blackworms, maastic stuck in the rock, live clam bits

Usual best bets for CBB.

Ours ate (guessing) the clam bits in the marine omni cubes we used to feed the tank at first.

Didn't know about live black worms at the time. Lol, and I was not properly conditioned to spend 10 minutes a day cutting up and serving tiny bits of clams on the half shelf.

Stupid thing is worse than an annoying cat.
Scratch that, I'm the stupid one for happily putting up with it.
:-) [emoji23]

Gotta love pictures! Can see the spread from intro of Acro green hair creeping back since I upped the lights and started extra mini feeds for CBB prolly not helping. Man o man bad happens in a hurry as they say but think I’m timely enough to make corrections.

@norfolkgarden ty for tip on masstic gonna grab some. Im in the same boat with ya they are a beautiful pain in the rear but will be worth the clam mincing etc if I can watch this little guy grow past his 2 inches
Glad to help. Hope it works out well soon!

It was a scary 2 weeks. CBB was the biggest fish in our tank when we got it. Just 1.75". It ate a mysis at the LFS. Took forever to eat at the house.

I am a sucker for juvenile fish that should work out for at least 5 years in our current tank.

It's like being able to get a new puppy every few months. And these don't chew the furniture.

Just spent 4 weeks convincing the 2.25" yellow tang it wasn't allowed to kill the new 1.75" purple tang.
The purple turned into the new prima donna.
Now that it's finally got some weight back on it I chase the purple with my finger when it's bothering the bigger yellow.

Worse than convincing our 1st dog that 3rd dog was not a chew toy that it could kill. :-(

Hide ho good neighbors CBB is all over the tank picking at rocks and just seeming to be having a swell time. He backed up the maroon clown today! Little guy has spunk at least with tank mates. My wife confirms one blood worm eaten today so progress I guess. I had to get masstic online no LFS carries it but did get some LRS fish frenzy. Holy moly that stuff is pricey. You know your a salt addict when your fish eat better than you do......
The CBB of course took one piece of frenzy and spit it out.......Little beautiful jerk is testing me lol
At least everyone else LOVED frenzy it was like watching shark week even the maroon was nice to me or at least to the feeding pipe But he ignored my hand at the top of it at least WINNING!
Across are clean no discoloration on yellow and small spots on red unchanged. Will get some video this weekend with the frenzy feeding pretty cool
Stay salty and any more tips or tricks send em my way

Testing testing 123 testing. Numbers are in
Nitrates have risen not surprisingly with the extra tries to feed CBB to 60 doh
Vodka dosing has commenced at .1 ml per 25 3 days then will double for 4 days check and see if I can go to 5ml week maint dose or need more daily dosing

Po4 .02
DKH forgot to dose yesterday DOH down 7.5 dosed to head back to 8.2 ish
Mag 1400
Ca 500
Lessons learned it’s the CBB’s fault..... and I need to stay on top of numbers better when in a situation is out of normal like extra feeding for a new finicky eater
Here’s a quick vid of the trouble maker
:)

Definitely try the maastic.
And live black worms.

On another thread someone had luck with live bloodworms.
Those may be easier to acquire.
Worthless nutrition wise, but for now the goal is to get the little so and so to eat anything.
:-)

Isn't it great being the wet equivalent of the crazy cat lady?

"Aawwww, precious isn't hungry for minced steak today.
Maybe tomorrow we'll try the poached salmon.
Precious needs to eat to get big and strong."

Maybe the puffer will like minced CBB....

OMG! I giggled!

In other news hope this a good sign on yellow Acro polyps? Doesn’t blow off so hopefully not algae or something bad but doesn’t look fully like pics of polyp extension which seem more flowery on end

Every time u post a FTS the tank is clearer and better than I remember...
Keep doing what ever u changed.

Glad u liked AW. My buddy Ben works there. Moved from SoF to there a month ago or so. He is trying to grow the corals frag tanks. 6 months ag ...ok their corals looked like they shoulda been in Petco. Much better now..

Happy Saturday all! My wife is officially the more addicted of the two of us to salt. I needed some more Alk juice and I got that bug wife walked out with this a au elegance. Only in the tank for 1.5 hours and 75 % opened. Prolly going to have to move it to a little lower flow area bug will see how it goes. Guess can’t complain she like @NY_Caveman is a lobo lover. Shop had a beautiful show piece lobo and a orange sinophilia (spelling gotta be wrong on that one) that we’re 200 and 250 like the 60 dollar piece choice. The search is on for a center piece tho lobo sino or scoly the wife is in love with. Here’s the new addition

No one outside close family sees my tanks, that is why I try to take nice pics to share. ;)
Thanks btw. :)
As you said, watch it for flow, looks great.

Good Morning folks, Wish it was going to be a lazy Sunday but pulling the power heads and skimmer for a full cleaning. If I get that and a good scrape of the back glass will be a happy camper. The Elegance really opened up and is looking good. Hope everyone has a layer back fish fun day

Thanks Ray. My secret is take a few dozen pictures and hope one or two come out. Most of my early tank photos were not great, but I just kept finding little ways to improve them, like turning off the flow and figuring out how to get better focused shots with my phone. I am certainly not in @najer ’s class.

I bought that inexpensive app called aquarium cam. When u use the auto filter feature it dramatically improves aquarium photos, especially when actinic is involved.

If the auto filter setting is not spot on there are a few white balance sliders and a few color sliders available. I have been so pleased with this app I will not even try an aquarium photo without it.

Lastly I’ve found that google photos color and brightness tools are way superior to the ios editing tools so I do any minor edits after the fact in google photos.
