Hello all, I've been out of circulation since underground filters were the way it was done. I've been catching up on the 1 or 2 changes ( lol holy moly a lot more than 1 or 2 things to catch up on) since last I was in the hobby for about a year. A lot of books, websites, and if course lurking here gave me the confidence to jump back in.

So far not much to share or show except a newly cleaned tank and sump. I've picked up what was missing from this Craigslist find but still found I needed a new plumbing kit ( just ordered online) as local stores didn't have what I needed to complete last bulkhead connections.

Rocks are getting a first soaking and once last items arrive mid next week will aquascape and start the cycle going. Looking forward to documenting this tank and sharing its progress with everyone.

Welcome to R2R! Love the "start of catching Damsels" ..I have a very similar story lol. Am checking out the cardinal turn killer..they are usually so peaceful, definitely have to see what that is about !!

Hello my friends,
Tammarin is running loose in display. When I catch him it will be tank transfer method as doing think he’d make it with copper. Mandarin is still mia didn’t see him when pulled the rocks not since they went back in. Hope to catch em during rescape.

Figure it’s velvet not ich. Once the CBB went from great to dead sealed the deal for me.

Scopas tang in copper breathing hard 90% on side bottom of tank edit passed 5/10
Foxface swimming fine but not eating but one or two bites
Maroon Clown not eating
Molly Miller Blenny no signs of eating
One spot cardinals fine eating like pigs
Blue Green Chromis fine eating like pigs

Folks if ya read this please learn from my mistakes. I bought qt fish had all that I wanted in tank happy for 2.5 months then added coral after a dip within week and change this sprouted. I will restock with qt fish after getting true fallow tank but will qt corals for 2 weeks before they hit display. I may have bought time to react with the high quality diet , pro biotic salt , and uv use but it’s not the end all be all.

I’m not rolling the dice anymore

disease and parasites is definitely the worst part about this hobby. At least now you’ll be able to work on improving things. Where was the coral from?

Happy moms day to all the mothers out there!
Today last tang gave up the ghost. Not surprising since they are higher risk with ich and velvet. In the end will make it easier to restock and introduce a new tang Gang in a couple months.
Other fish in treatment are looking good so far fingers crossed 12 more days at treatment level of copper then give em a break for a few days then perhaps a general cure to heal up from the copper.

Happy Thursday! I’m on a 4 day week so it’s my weekend
So velvet sucks..... Losses seem to be over tangs didn’t make it Other guys have a week of copper under their belt and have been eating a little more everyday so feeling very good about that. Ordered up some meds for gram point of sale and negative bugs. After copper will give em a few days in plain old salt water get 100 percent WC add more bottle bac and then give a treatment with the plexes.
Tammarin is still in display no issue but he’s gotta go into TTM (need to get cpl cheap 10 gal tanks).
I still have the polyp lab velvet/ich reef safe meds. Once Tammarin is out going to run this treatment and send a aquabiomic test in. See if it shows any fish disease in water column. This is for my curiosity and will still be running a COWLR for a while.
This weekend is a lot of tank work display rescape get nem out and back where I want him Hospital tank WC should be a joy...... Going to try getting a vid of redo and qt will see how ambitious I am come go time.

Still bummed out but all things considered doing ok. Hoping reshaping and moving corals will perk me up.

I needed a quick getaway and to see what a tank with fish rock and corals look like thanks for making a tough day bit better.
Not sure why Murphy’s got it in for me. Hopefully he leaves me be and bone scan shows nothing to get torqued about and MRI was some kinda smudge.

Yeah Arnold. They thinks it's very low chance but gotta follow up. They did mri cause I tore two muscles and aggravsatd most of tendons so this was an added bonus free maybe find.
Not going red alert yet should be ok in end just a pain waiting hopefully
