Hey everyone, I did it, I finally did it and got myself a frag of a rainbow chalice variant (called gobstopper) the frag has cyan, blue, green, red, and orange on it, and was curious, how much growth do these guys get? My Miami Hurricane gets bigger every day seemingly but I would love to know about the rainbow chalice and if you have pictures to compare frag to current size of your own, I’d love to see them! Thank you

Might be hard to say without a photo to help identify which species. Echinophyllia and Echinomorpha tend to grow faster than Mycedium or Oxypora in my experience. They all grow faster with feeding. A lot of people joke that the more beautiful the coral the slower it grows... ha!

Here’s a better photo but I don’t have a blue light lens sorry! But it’s a nice piece for sure and the orange eyes have bright cyan grafted-like streaks

Gorgeous!

Based on the articles I’ve read, and my amateur opinion looking at it, I think it is more of a Mycedium since the corallites seem to be pointing more towards the outer edge of the coral. It looks like the skeleton is a little thicker and corallites (eyes) larger than an echinophyllia, but it could be that as well. Always harder to tell with frags. Might be able to have a better idea when it grows out. I’d say just keep it fed and watch it grow! Good advice for any of those species!
