Hi everyone, I have tried to pull one these off my rainbow Lobo coral but only got pieces. 4 days later I see even more. Does anyone know if this is a hitchhiker or a part of the lobo.

I believe I am seeing Mesenterial Filaments which are internal structures of coral. Is the coral being stung by neighbors or is the coral trying to sting near by corals.
Do you see Mesenterial Filaments during the day.

I have only seen 1 during the day. I been watching it for past weeks as I thought it may be a worm or something. It's polyps are away from any coral and I can not see anything at night trying to sting it. I am cleaning the tank toady and will watch for any nearby corals. Is it possible a coral without tentacles that is close by maybe releasing toxins? Thanks for your reply.

This happened to one of my lobos a while ago. What happens is they're usually wild harvested and not use to the tank lighting. They're use to the lighting they were in. They're trying to adjust and sometimes they just don't make it. Mine you would only see there filaments at night and during the day it would ne all puffed up and happy. Mine was able to adapt to the new lighting but some can not.

I would not worry about toxins. As long as chem is in line and the coral is not over illuminated it should resolve.

Thanks and that is great news. I got it at 100 - 150 par by my Seneye and really don't see during the day.
