I have lost all the different polyp colors and cannot get them back. I have had this coral for a few years on a solitary rock to prevent it spreading all over. Basically all I have is the blue base and the polyps are predominantly green with a few orange polyps. Any tips for getting the multiple colors to come back?
Salinity is 1.026
Alk 7.6 (running CARX)
No3 10
I have been dosing sponge power, AA's, and vinager for 2.5 weeks.

The Rainbow ,Super Girl and or Poker Star montipora variants have the different colored polyps on the new growth. So....if your Rainbow is no longer growing out it will/can hold that green pigment color on the polyps.

this is going to sound barbaric but cut it or frag it if you want that color the previous poster is correct if the coral has overtake that rock. no new growth = singular color. if it hasn't overgrown the rock i would bet on a lighting issue.

I'll have to take a pic of it later. It's basically covered the top 1/3 of the rock and it's pretty large. it is spreading downward but at a slow pace. I doubt it's lighting my tank is 95% sps and my colors on everything else is fine. I have a maxima clam on my sand bed that's doing well. I'm running Radion G2 at 80% . Maybe when I get some time I'll take a dremmal tool and cut some chunks out of it.

The same thing happened to me, when I moved some rock around I moved it higher in the tank and the other colors came out much better. I also run Radions , watch this coral it it will over run all your rock if your not careful. My one completely covered a meteor shower cyphestria.

I'm basically right under the puck. Luckily it's on a rock that's all by itself. I know what you mean about taking over I also have a sunset Monti and a meteor shower. They have taken over the rocks they are on. I'm thinking about getting rid of the meteor shower to get some realestate back for some acros.

i've noticed the more light it gets the more it morphs.
