Rainbow montipora fragging help

I got rainbow montipora completely encrusting over the sides of a tile that it is on. How do you frag encrusting coral? Do you just have to cut the tile or is there a way to take it off?

Cut the tile. Remount pieces to new tile and let it encrust further.

Hammer and chisel/old screwdriver for a brute solution, diamond tipped blade on a Dremel for a cleaner result

Dremel. Cut the whole tile as stated above.

If youre using a dremel, score the underside of the tile like 75% through where you want the cuts on the coral...then use a flat tipped screwdriver to leverage the gaps apart for a clean break

Yep, just break or cut. Monti's are usually some of the easies to frag. Just break off a piece.

My encrusting monti, when it gets to the edge of the rock it's on, almost plates. It makes it super easy to just break a chunk off. It's generally easy to scrape off a rock too, but you can't keep what you scrape off - it gets destroyed. I have to scrape part of mine to keep it from overtaking other corals.
