I picked up this scrolling cyphastrea from Dr. Mac at pacific east aquaculture not long ago. It’s been one I’ve wanted for years now so I bit the bullet and grabbed this good size piece of it. His colonies in his display are mind blowing, was curious if anyone else had a larger, colored up colony of it?

Gotta frag?

ARC has basically the same thing also. ECC sells them wholesale so if your LFS orders from them they can probably get them.

She looks bright, would like to see this in a different light and a bigger piece. Maybe something I will need to add down the road.

If bright light it turns red if lower light it turns dark

Yikes, need to figure out how to get a piece now.. bright light coloration is super nice.. Thank you!!

I want to put it under low light and see what those polyps look like too

In my experience they will look very similar to the piece the OP posted. They are beautiful, but honestly that multicolor awesomeness in the polyps is on of those things that looks great in macro pictures or if you are close to the tank and focus on it, but otherwise it mostly not noticeable. In any case though they are nice looking pieces.

His might be under lower lighting I'm assuming. Look at the one i posted and that's the same piece

At PEA they had a few colonies in a large display I wish I grabbed pics of, the mid level ones were purpley with yellow to green spots, but the one on the bottom in very low light was pure rainbow, never seen a coral with that much color just to the naked eye. I need to bring my camera and get quality pics next visit. I haven't seen that red coloration, my goal is keeping it in super low light and getting that rainbow color going, I'll try and post some updated pics of mine soon as well.
