Rainbow Yuma won’t stay on plug

So like the title says, I ordered a Rainbow Yuma and it came on a plug as per usual. I put it it on one of my frag rack that’s dang near on my sandbed that has the lowest flow spot and shortly after about 12 hours it came off my plug. I took it out applied glue to the plug and re set it and this time I put it the sandbed in the shadows near my rocks and the Yuma is almost completely off the plug and trying to get as close to the rock as possible. Is this normal? Did I glue it wrong to the plug?

It’s very difficult to glue yumas.

Common practice is to put it in a small container with pieces or rubble and let it attach itself.

Give it a week or 2 to attach

It it like peeling off or moving? I know some mushrooms move and leave a bit of their foot behind to propagate. If it’s a floater I recommend something like an anenome box to lower the flow it’s in.

No flow is the key to getting them to attach to what you want. Try a red solo cup in the refugium if you have one. I just had a shroom attach himself using a cup placing it on a frag rack in the sump/fuge. He ended up attaching himself in a couple days and now he’s in the main display.

would i put it in the cup with the rock i want it on? or would i cut the plug and leave it in there as the rocks i want it on are all being utilized as " bases" for my aquascapes? i guess to answer you Kayden he was peeling off the plug untill he got off the plug so hes definitely moving himself idk if that answers your question

An LFS sells these little boxes. Just throw in the mushroom and some rubble, close the lid, put it in the proper light.

Yea i wish my LFS sold these its a tiny joint so maybe i can find one on amazon and prime it. he seems to be fine tucked away under one of my base rocks on the sand but obviously thats not where i want to keep him

If he is loose you can get him in a cup or something where flow will not scoot him around so he can attach naturally on to something of your liking.
