I don't normally rant, but this has been picking at me for a while, and I'm sure a few others.

This recent obsession with naming everything a "rainbow" coral needs to stop... Honestly I understand there are those chalices, acans, zoas and sticks that genuinely show an abundance of colors, not just one or two. But this Is for those corals that do not stand up to the "rainbow" name.

Browsing through some websites and seeing a two toned red and blue acan labeled as a "rainbow" acan for nearly $50 a polyp is outrageous. This is solely just jacking up the price with a name. In my opinion rainbow means generaly 4+ colors. And all too often I see a sunny D or CAR "morph" called a rainbow just because.

Maybe I'm color blind and am missing some colors, but seeing all these corals being claimed as rainbows when they're mearly two toned it bugging me.

I agree. Everything is a rainbow now a-days. But there are some things that deserve the name (like the Pro Corals Rainbow).

Then you have the rainbow chalices. Which I will never understand why people have to buy each and every one. Because the darn things all look alike. All you have to do is find the brightest one and forget about the others that look so similar they could have been cut from opposite sides of the same colony.
