RAINSFORD MURDERED BY Y/T DAMSEL!!!

So I purchased a Rainsford Goby and all was fine for the day and evening - look several times after lights out all good. Well I awaken to a dead Goby - I think it tried to find a sleeping hole near the Damsels place and got attacked. The other gobys sleep on the otherside of the tank. Now the emerald crab is eating a $16.00 breakfast. DARN DAMSEL!!!! Ok that's my rant!

I highly doubt it that your damsil killed your goby at night Most likely it was just sick or improper accumulation

So there are a lot of possibilities here.

It may have already been sick and the added stress of a move may have been to much.

How did you acclimate?

Yellow tail damsels are relatively mild and it is doubtful it killed the goby. Possible yes, but doubtful.

Well he was chasing it earlier all around but then things settled down. Everyone went back to their spots and the new guy found a place too. I wake up and it's an expensive breakfast for the emerald crab!

It’s totally normal for the old fish in your tank to chase the new guy. It why most people qt new fish. Not only will you watch for any signs of disease but it also gives the fish time to relax and start eating.

also most lpf keep there fish at 1.017 if you keep your tank at 1.025 and you just added your fish with out drip accumulating its possiable that killed it.

like others said yellow tail arent that bad when it comes to damsels.
