I added too much rodi and now my salt is at 30ppt. How much salt should I add to my tank to bring it up a little? I have a 90 gallon display tank and a trigger 36 sump. Probably not more than 100 gallons with the water the rock displaces. There aren't any fish or inverts I am just starting my cycle.

In that situation I would siphone several gallons into a clean 5 gallon bucket and dissolve a half cup or so of salt, poor back in tank, wait a while and recheck salinity. Repeat as needed.

Okay. I can see that with fish and other creatures in the tank. Why can't it be added to the tankand mixed by the pumps? Will that not work? How can I raise the salinity otherwise?

If you have an ato, you could add salt water to that and let evaporation bring your salt level up, then changes back to RODI water. If you don't have have an ato, you could top up with salt water instead of fresh to slowly bring up salinity.

Thanks. I siphoned some off and added a little extra salt then added that back into the tank.

I just add a full cup in to the return section as the water from the display tank returns to the sump it mixes up, never had an issue. Or I just make 25 litres water at twice the amount of salt when I'm doing a water change, saying all this I have a 220 gallon system so I have a large margin for error, just cuz I do it don't mean it's right or how you should do it, but I've never had a problem..
