Raising alkalinity and calcium for the first time

Have 70 gallon red sea max with trigger cube sump guessing around 75 gallons of water once you take in account the sand and live rock. my Alk was at 7.7 and I'd like to bring it back up to 8.1 and calcium was down from 400 to 375. The Bulk Reed Supply calculator said to raise alkalinity from 7.7 to 8.1 to add 4.2 tsp of soda ash and to raise calcium from 375 to 400 I'd need 6.4 fl oz of calcium chloride. Does that sound about right and should I raise it slowly throughout the day or over a course of a couple days?

I use liquid 2-part so I can't really comment on the powder supplements, but I do trust their calculators for the liquid dosing. You're well within a safe range if you want to raise to those levels in the same day.

Dose 1/4 of each 5 minutes apart into the sump, wait a half hour and then test both again. Do that again in a few hours.

Soda ash will have a short term effect on your pH so best to break it up, even though your corrections are minor.

You could do half, but doing it 1/4 at a time and testing each time will have a bigger affect on your confidence and understanding for what happens in your specific tank
