Raising aquascape and burrowing critters

Hey all,

Quick question, I’m looking at redoing my scape and in doing so I’m looking at using acrylic rods to raise the scape from the sand bed and to connect some pieces together. In raising rock off the sand bed, do I need to worry about anything with my burrowing critters like my yellow watchman goby or pistol shrimp?

Only if you have an unstable section of rock that could easily be tipped by something burrowing under it. This is why many will place their rock directly on the glass and then place the sand around it.
