So my cleaner shrimp released a bunch and of babies last night and I was able to catch about a hundred of them. Right now, I have them in a small tank with an air stone. They all made it through the night, but I’m not sure what to feed them. Anyone have experience with raising these little guys? Any help is greatly appreciated.

awesome. I don't know what to feed them, but there certainly are books out there about it. I would guess artemia and/or rotifers.

you could hatch artemia aka baby brine shrimp pretty quickly if you have eggs and an air stone and a pop bottle.

The different Lysmata species have different larvae sizes and period before settling. If you got Lysmata amboinensis, those are among the hardest to breed what I have heard. But it doesn't mean it's impossible:)
I watched a talk not long ago about breeding peppermint shrimps(among the easiest). He said the L. amboinensis needed copepod nauplii as a first food. Not the easiest to get a hold of fast :)
Do a google search for breeding the species you have and see what type of larvae stages they got, what food that has been tested etc.

The good thing is that Lysmata shrimps reproduce quite often, so next time you could be prepared with the right food and everything.

Thanks for all the help guys! I think I might just put them back in the tank this time and give my fish a little snack rather than not be able to take care of them, but I’ll get the food so that I’ll be ready for next time.

On another note, I only have one cleaner shrimp and she has been in my tank for over six months. How did she have babies?
