I just noticed on Friday night i have eggs i went to my lfs but they were out of rotifers so if i get some overnighted i wont get them till tue morning. The eggs are grey with a silver shine to them so im assuming they will hatch tonight. With that being said if they do hatch tonight that leaves a 36hr window before i get rotifer to them is it a lost cause already?I read on one site that they wont eat in the first 12-24 so wasnt sure if i might still be able to getthem going. I wasn't planning on raising fry so its a last min thing i do have everything setup to go just no rotifers. Is there any other food source i can try for the first day?

Are they all alone in the tank or do you have another tank you can put them in and would it be easy to do that? If they aren't, they won't make it. My clowns lay eggs about every 3 weeks but I never see any fry. the other fish must gobble them up fast. Unless you are set up to breed and raise them the chances are pretty slim. But it is a good sign that your clowns are breeding, means the tank is in pretty good shape. If they layed eggs once it will probably be a regular occurance so if it doesn't work out this time there will probably be many more chances. Good luck

They in a 30g rimless with a nem and three small rocks and my chances are slim already cause they laid on the overflow panel. So being able to collect them after they hatch wont be easy if even plausible. But i want to try if i do fail i will add a flower pot and try to get them to lay on that. Ive had this pair for about six months bought them cause they were a fully grown pair the lfs usually just has small ones but this is a backup tank for split nems so breeding was never really the main goal.
