Raising Dendronephthya and Scleronephthya, next step, pt1

Just came in, activated carbon 110 lbs, for super filtration system being built, as we speak

Any idea how often you will you need to replace the carbon?
Are you going to be feeding the same food source this time around?
When you say 10 seconds on, 5 minutes off is that cycle repeated 24x7 for basically a constant stream of food in the water column vs/ periodic pulses of food?

The build is looking great! Looks like you're covering all of the bases and the round front in the tank design seems perfect for getting the flow right. Rooting for your success!

Carbon, with such a large surface area hoping in 4-5yrs, hoping bacteria break down most detritus. Check out Hiatt filtration, it's work for me. Also Im building another carbon filter in 55 gallon plastic barrel(barrel will be insulated and outside). I've added 110 lbs carbon,30 lbs crush marble, and another 110 lbs carbon coming. Super filtration, LOL.

FOOD source
Yes, same type still, food feed 24/7. Ammonia(NH3) is going down as we speak. Also I've increase timer to 20sec-on, 5 min-off. 20mL(apprx) of food every 5min. 24/7. Just getting a hazy look in water
Tank
I love this tank, the two stream pumps alternate, one on, one off, hope this helps.

I located dosing pumps/food outside, food smells nasty. But corals love it.

We'll see what happens.

Thanks for encouragement

10 more days to new thread, and hopefully new Dendronephthya, I'll see if my LFS can hold some for me.
Dendronephthya from Vietnam.

LFS will hold the large ones for me, possibly sell them too.

Been adding ammonium chloride 24mL, that's alot. From .3-.4 ppm in 12hrs back to 0ppm. That's fast.

Still using Hiatt carbon ,RN bacteria , unstuck too.

Planning soon to order dendronephthya

Stay tune

I'm guessing that smells a little strong.

Looking forward to seeing the new dendro's!
Now that you mentioned it. When putting together not bad, the smell. Just can't have it in home still. Home brew has a little of everthing, almost.
Checked (4hrs after starting food) ammonia, looking good. We'll see
