So iv now got to a point where my nitrate is as low as 0.5 ! And phos is 0.045 how do i raise the nitrate without affecting my phos ? Tia

What Diesel said. Dosing nitrates, either using KNO3 or NaNO3, will not have a direct effect on your phosphate levels. It's possible, however, that the growth in your tank has been nitrate-limited, be it coral or algal growth. Upon dosing nitrates, there may be enough dissolved nutrients to resume growth, and as a result, you may see phosphates drop. This depends upon a great many things, however, so the extent to which phosphates decrease, if they decrease at all, is variable.

I dont mind if phos goes down just not up lol! My fuge is doing to good a job now

I thought those values were around the redfield ratio.

So is 50,000 ppm nitrate and 1,000 ppm phosphate.

Does that make it a good set of target levels? :D
