i have a 2.5 gallon with a 10 watt pc light. i have some gsp, a chalice, 1 snail, 1 hermit and a watchman gobie goby...... my ph seems to stay between 8.0-8.2 whats the best way to raise it to 8.4?

ok, i do a 1 to 1 1/2 cup water change every week. i know the smaller tanks can fluctuate pretty easy and i am going to add more coral so just wanna make sure... when i asked a guy at the lfs he said it needs to be at 8.4. thanks for the help

will my ph being 8.0 limit me on what corals i can put in there anymore than i am because of the size of the tank?

With my real small tanks I top off in the morning and night to keep the salinity from fluctuating a lot. They're shrimp breeding/grow out tanks and they don't like salinity changes.

No. 8.0 is fine. Fresh air helps. You don't have glass tops on the tank do you? I'd suggest larger water changes, like at least a quart.

my salinity stays pretty stable, everything stays good just wasnt to sure about the ph. how do u think a sps would do in it? i have always wanted to try one but was not sure since its so small

Size of the tank doesn't matter. I'm not sure about your lighting though; that I don't know. But after more thought I'd suggest an even bigger water change - a quart is very minimum, half gallon would be better. For a healthy tank.

ok, i didnt want to take out to much of the water and figured that since i did it every week that a small water change would be good. its a little less than 5 watt per gallon and the gps and chalice seem to be doing really good but they have only been in a few weeks and the tank has only been up for 2 months

yeah, i had one in this tank before but power went out for a 2 days and i lost everything. same lighting just a new bulb. i have never had any problems with coral growth in this tank a couple years ago, actually seemed to grow much better than any tank i ever had
