Raising Ph via kalkwasser

Hello, hope this doesn't sound crazy but I wanted to know if I could just add kalk to a 5 gallon bucket and add it to my tank. I'm trying to raise my pH.

Lot of questions to ask first…if you just blindly dose kalk, you’re going to have a lot of problems.

Are you currently dosing an alkalinity/calcium solution?

What are your test results for calcium/alkalinity?

How much does your tank need for top off every week?

You can dose it, yes. However, you need to be certain of your pH and alkalinity consumption first.

And just to be clear, even when you are dosing only to meet alkalinity needs and not more, it needs to be added very slowly, preferably dropwise.
